Just like what we said before, Facebook Chat now available in all Jabber (XMPP) Client. Pidgin that also supports XMPP can be also to used Facebook Chat. Here are the steps that you have to do to setup your Pidgin to make it able to use Facebook Chat:

Go to “Accounts” and select “Manage Accounts.”
On the Basic tab, enter the following info:
Protocol: XMPP
Username: yourfacebookusername
Domain: chat.facebook.com
Resource: Pidgin
Password: your Facebook password
Local alias: Your Facebook Nickname
Click the Advanced tab, then enter the following info:
Connect port: 5222
Connect server: chat.facebook.com
(Uncheck the box labeled “Require SSL/TLS”)
