This is truly a sad sad new; a bad bad new for anyone who love to hanging out on Yahoo Messenger Chat Room. According to Official YM Blog, this Public Chat Room will be closed down by December 14th, 2012.
Even the other features such as Yahoo PingBox, Voice Phone in and out, will be discontinued either. What the reason behind this?
When was the last time you entered into a Public chat room from Yahoo Messenger, you won’t be able to after December 14 this year as Yahoo decided to discontinue Public Chat rooms and other features for its Messenger product. Other services to stop for Yahoo Messenger are Pingbox, interoperability with Windows Live Messenger and Yahoo Voice Phone In and Phone Out feature (by January 30, 2013).
I guess the reason behind this can be figure out by the model of the investment. Yahoo Public Chat Room didn’t have any significant improvement on the matter of users and advertisement. The other reason might be this Chat Rooms no longer attractive to new users instead the spammer are always take the advantages. Even with captcha protection they still can get thru it.
Of course there always a kind of disappointment because of this, but I thought it a good step for Yahoo to do it. If you one of them who love the Chat Room and didn’t want it to be removed, you must face with a brave hearth. There still a conference room that you can use as a subtitude of Yahoo Public Chat Room.
Let’s say farewell to the Yahoo Chat Room. Say Good By to it.
Note: You’ll not able to use YM for MSN Messenger either.

I come yahoo for just chat, I opend yahoo ID just becouse I chat on yahoo, otherwise it is just scrap and hope my last Goodbye to on 14 Dec. , really its non sence decision of yahoo. Public chat is heart of yahoo masenger othrwise it is scrap. yahoo think same as Nokia and both compny will be History, microsoft killing both.
