We almost misleading on how to turn off Chat Feature on Yahoo Mail (sometime also called as Yahoo Mail Messenger aka Yahoo Messenger on Yahoo Mail as a web base) with sign out YMail. Instead of only turn off the Chat Mail Service of Yahoo, we got that we sign out of Yahoo Mail.

Finally, after searching for the log out / sign out link of Yahoo Mail Messenger, we found that the link was in the same drop down menu of status message.

Turn Off Chat / Yahoo Messenger on Yahoo Mail (Tutorial)

Go to Status Message drop down menu >> Click the status (default “available” with smile emoticon at the left side of sign out link Ymail)>> then it would be available 5 of them (Available, Busy, Invisible, Sign out of Chat and Custom Status Message…) >> Click Sign out of chat >> Done

Now you already turn of chat feature in your Yahoo Mail (see the image)

How to you get the chat status if it does not show up between the Hi Log in and Signout. All i see is
Hi xx | | Signout. No dropdown option. i lost it when i installed and uninstalled yahoo messenger.

Yahoo messenger will not sign out of chat what so ever. I keep getting spam messages form the same person and I just close them without reading them and they keep popping up. I had stopped using yahoo chat along time ago because it ends up infecting my mobile phone or pc. Now it is active and will not shut off without loging out of yahoo mail altogether
